Aaron Rents complaint by Halbieishere
Aaron Rents delayed for weeks before picking up a seven month old big screen television for what should have been direct and simple warranty service. Allegedly, the set was taken to a "central services" center for repair (Does this sound like something out of the movie, "Brazil"? If so, it should.). After a month, they returned it with the same problem and the store manager claimed there was nothing wrong with it. Of course, they managed to scratch up the base - the only noticeable effect they had on the unit.

Three complaints and several weeks later, Aaron Rents finally arranged for a competent, independent repair person to examine the set. He immediately noted the problem - a clear defect in the LCD screen - and said that it would likely entail replacing the panels or the entire set. I will be without my TV for another 3-4 weeks, but still making payments, of course.

Aaron Rents' management - including senior management at a regional level - have demonstrated an amazing lack of interest in repairing a defective product they, in fact, still own. You will have to make dozens of phone calls, file complaints, and write letters to get these lazy, incompetent, and dishonest sluggards to honor their own warranties.

It is their singular attention to consumer dissatisfaction, I believe, that typifies their company.

First of all you have to understand that companies are in business to make money and when you sign your name to a document your are fully responsible to uphold your part of the agreement, and if you think that your late payment does not effect the company you are wrong, when you and a large part of Aaron's customer base decide that they don't, or can't make their payment, the company is losing money. This company offers no credit checks, a large selection of name brand products, and the garaunteed lowest price and because of dishonest people like yourself that will not make their payment, the employees will not get a raise to help support their families, therefore your decision not to make a payment effects everyone, not just you. Furthermore, it is your right to freedom of speech, it is your right to a speedy trial, it is your right to pursue your happiness, therefore it is a priviledge for Aaron's to allow you to lease items from their store based on trust. You and anyone who decides that Aaron's is not important enough to pay should stop and think, is this how I would want to be treated if I owned a a business. Companies got where they are now because of their hard work and dedication, we all got where we are now because of our hard work and dedication and no one should take that from us, be it a global corporation or individual business, its just wrong.

I just can't believe where this country is heading. When a person signs a lease aggreement with someone that specifies the date the payment is due, as well as the amount that is due and then gets upset when the party that is owed the money and has lived up to their end of the bargain wishes to be paid on time. It's crazy. I mean a business should understand that just because I signed the aggreement and gave my word and am legally bound to it, doesn't mean that I will do what I said. I have other bills to pay which are more important than Aaron's. Sure, I have used and enjoyed the merchandise I've leased for these last few weeks, but they are a big company and can absorb my non-payment. I shouldn't have to pay any of my bills when I leave town for the weekend, or when I have a death in the family, or when my car breaks down. I mean it's not like I'm running from them. They should just be happy that I will come in sometime. After all it is my RIGHT and not a priviledge to have my 50" LCD with surround sound to go with my living room suit. I unamerican to say "Where's my payment?"
